the KDP Sales Dashboard – Troubleshooting Tips for Author:

I have sold books and have not yet been paid:

The top 3 offenders when books are sold but no payments are made are =

  • You have not linked a bank account with Amazon as yet: Amazon might still be attempting to issue you a royalty check even without any (or valid) banking information loaded.
  • It’s not yet time: Only 60 days following the month in which your book is sold does Amazon affect payments.
  • Valid tax interview: Amazon may withhold payments from you if that period of time passes without an updated tax interview being submitted.

Why don’t my royalties match up with the KDP Sales Dashboard?

First off, Book Report doesn’t perform the calculation described above; instead, we obtain our royalties and sales figures directly from Amazon. Just what Amazon told us is what you see in the reports.

Here are the most typical reasons why royalties aren’t in sync:

  • Royalties lagging behind sales
  • A book was returned
  • Exchange rates
  • Other complications

In relation to other complications, Other factors like VAT in the European Union and delivery expenses that Amazon takes into account when calculating royalties can cause the results to appear erroneous. The figures that Book Report presents reflect these.

The data from Amazon is displayed by Book Report with all the intricacies included. This makes it more precise than the straightforward calculation we began with, but also far more muddled.
