All of this can sound fairly straightforward, but we know it’s a lot of work and easier said than done. You might bang into some common problems or questions when put to work. Here are some tips we’ll give you to make it work!
1. Prioritize your Keyword Research in SEO List:
How many keywords are you going to have? – as many as you can think of, you need a lot of them. Over 1000 keywords, however, are possibly too many! You’ll probably end up with a couple of hundred keywords, even though you’re a fairly small company.
But there’s no need right away to build pages for any of these. Bit by bit, you can add stuff. Think about what keywords, maybe the more long-tail ones, you want to rank for now. And which ones right away aren’t as important? Understand your goals and prepare your content creation.

So, how do you find the associated key phrases that will help you rank with your key phrase of focus? You may be able to think of a few similar key phrases, but we believe the safest bet is proper keyword data.
That’s why in Yoast SEO we have a SEMrush integration that suggests similar keyphrases and even shows you the volume and pattern of the quest for each key phrase. Since SEMrush is one of the world’s leading SEO and marketing software businesses, this will help you find the right keywords for your material.
This functionality can be found in the SEO sidebar and meta box of Yoast. Simply go below the ‘Focus keyphrase’ area to the ‘Get relevant keyphrases’ button and press it. The first time you click this button, you will need to attach or build an account with your SEMrush account and allow Yoast SEO to use it. You will be able to press the ‘Get related keyphrases’ button after you have linked your account and find related keyphrases immediately.
The related keyphrase functionality is available free of charge, but you have the advantage of using it in the related keyphrase function if you use Premium. This function allows you to add similar keyphrases, and even synonyms, to a sidebar or meta box area in the Yoast SEO. That way, the content can be easily configured for several main phrases and synonyms. 4. Check out results for singular and plural keywords
Will you strive for the keyword singular or plural? Well, it’s based on the query. As Google knows more about your query’s search intent, it is able to better guess what you are searching for. If you search for books, for example, you get a different outcome than if you search for books.
Apparently, Google thinks you’re searching for a description in the first case, and in the second case, it thinks you’re trying to purchase a book. So make sure you know what you’re selling on your website and that it suits the query that Google offers on the query and results.

5. Use a keyphrase only once/Keyword Research
Beware, the exact target keyword research in SEO should not be used more than once. Your rankings can suffer from keyword cannibalization if you do. Google has a hard time making a somewhat similar distinction between materials. Therefore, very similar posts or pages may be rated lower.
6. Try, evaluate and try again
The next move is to compose an excellent article and refine it accordingly after you have done a detailed review of your chances of ranking on a particular term. And reach writing, post it in your newsletter and on social media. Make sure there are some good backlinks you can draw. And wait for a while. Check your rankings out there.

This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try to rank the content if you’re writing anything that doesn’t exactly suit your approach. You may also use it in the list of your keyword strategy to rank for anything relevant to the words.
To quickly search for the keyword you want to rank for, use the tools listed in step 3 and Google Trends. At least, take some time to think about how to suit your plan with your article or blog. After all, if you’re writing useful material, you should rate it as well!
